Vote Yes for the
NTT Faculty Union
We, the nontenure track faculty of ISU,
now have the long-awaited opportunity to determine our own fate by
voting for a union. We have the legal right to bargain as a group,
and exercising that right gives us strength. Collective bargaining
ensures that all NTTs are treated fairly and that nobody gets a raw
deal.

Why Unions Matter:
United We Bargain, Divided We Beg
by Gretchen E.
Knapp
On Wednesday April 23 nontenure-track faculty will have the
long-awaited opportunity to determine their own fate by voting for a
union. One year ago the Illinois State University Nontenure-track
Faculty Association announced its card drive. Six months ago the
NTTFA filed a petition with the Illinois Educational Labor Relations
Board. By state statute, an election should have followed shortly
thereafter -- in 30 days. But the administration's response was to
try and keep as many of us from voting as possible.
